With much excitement and for the first time, we will be offering a tomahawk class! This is a style of tomahawk inspired by many of the tomahawks/belt axes from the colonial era. To complete this project you will be working in pairs with the other person striking. Each individual will leave with a finished tomahawk. This class will cover many different aspects of forging, including working with a striker and proper striking form, how to punch and drift an eye in a tool, edge geometry, grinding, heat treating, handling, and many other steps and techniques.

It is beneficial for students to have prior forging experience for this class, and it is essential that they are physically fit and capable of swinging a sledge hammer for an extended period of time.

The hours of this class will be from 9:00AM-5:00PM. Only thing you need to bring is your preferred safety equipment, and water. Lunch will be provided. You must wear proper workwear. Leather closed toe shoes/boots, all cotton clothing, and full length pants are required.

The class will take place at 250 W Fair Grounds Rd, La Grange, TX 78945 on January 25th, 2024.
